1 Acceptance of terms

By downloading, accessing, or using BrightFuture, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

2 The service

BrightFuture is a tool that helps you draft a resume and cover letter using AI, based on information you provide. You can preview generated documents for free. Downloading a document as a Word file, or asking us to regenerate it, requires a one-time purchase as described below.

3 Accounts & sign-in

• You sign in using a Google, Facebook, or LinkedIn account. You're responsible for keeping that account secure — we don't manage your password on any of those platforms.
• You must provide accurate information when using the app. You're responsible for the accuracy of the work history, education, and skills you enter — BrightFuture helps you phrase what you tell it, but doesn't verify it.
• One account should represent one person. Don't share login credentials or use the app on behalf of someone else without their knowledge.

4 Purchases & pricing

All purchases are processed by Google Play Billing. Prices are shown in South African Rand and may be converted to your local currency by Google Play if you're outside South Africa. We don't handle or store your payment card details — Google does.

Every purchase is verified against Google Play's own records before a download is unlocked, and each purchase can only be redeemed once — this protects both you and us from fraudulent or duplicate charges.

5 Refunds

Because each purchase unlocks a digital download immediately, purchases are generally non-refundable once the document has been delivered. If a payment was charged but a download genuinely failed to deliver due to a technical error on our end, contact us at the address below and we'll make it right.

Google Play's own refund policies for in-app purchases also apply and operate independently of this policy — you can request a refund directly through Google Play within the window Google allows.

6 AI-generated content

The resume and cover letter content BrightFuture generates is produced by an AI system based on the information you provide. While we instruct the AI to work only from what you've told it and not invent experience, qualifications, or facts, you are responsible for reviewing every generated document carefully before using it — for accuracy, tone, and truthfulness — before sending it to any employer.

You own the content of your finished resume and cover letter. We don't claim any rights over the documents you generate.

7 Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the app to generate content that is fraudulent, impersonates someone else, or misrepresents qualifications you don't hold.
• Attempt to bypass payment, tamper with purchase verification, or exploit the service in a way that circumvents the pricing described above.
• Use automated tools to send an abnormally high volume of requests to the app.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the underlying source code of the app, beyond what's permitted by law.
• Use the app for any unlawful purpose.

8 Intellectual property

The BrightFuture app, its design, branding, and underlying software are owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of the app itself to you — only the right to use it as intended, and to own the documents it generates for you as described above.

9 Limitation of liability

BrightFuture is provided "as is." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to lost job opportunities, lost income, or reliance on AI-generated content that contained errors you did not catch before using it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited under South African law, including the Consumer Protection Act where it applies.

10 Termination

You may stop using BrightFuture and delete your account at any time — see Data deletion. We may suspend or terminate access for accounts that violate the Acceptable Use section above, with notice where reasonably possible.

11 Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.

12 Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
